Artiste multimédia, spécialisée dans le portrait. Ses techniques vont de l’encre de couleur à la porcelaine, de la photographie à la vidéo.
En 1986, elle obtient un CFC de graphiste des Arts Visuels de Bienne, puis elle s’envole pour New York. Elle y vivra jusqu’en 2017 avant de revenir dans le Jura.
À Manhattan, elle débute comme graphiste stagiaire chez Milton Glaser, puis en freelance pour le Swiss Institute et le Paper Magazine.
Grace à une bourse d’études du Canton du Jura, elle obtient un certificat de l’Université de New York (NYU), département film et vidéo en 1992. Ses oeuvres sont régulièrement exposées dans le Jura, mais aussi à Zurich, Bâle, Berlin ou New York.
Elle illustre une campagne des chocolats Frigor (1993), reçoit le prix Tintin au festival international de la BD de Sierre. Elle realise de nombreuses affiches pour le Caveau de Delémont, ainsi que des illustrations pour l’édition américaine.
En 2005, Sylvie reçoit le Prix du Conseil Consultatif des Jurassiens de l’Extérieur (CCJE).
En 2008, elle est sélectionnée au Programme pour l’aide aux artistes immigrants (New York Art Foundation) suivi de l’exposition collective Making it, à la Deutsche Bank’s Gallery de Wall Street.
Sylvie Müller fait partie du comité de Visarte Jura, du comité des galeries de Delémont et d’un mandat à la commission de gestion des ateliers d’artistes de la RCJU.
